Overview:

RobotEngine is a FREE complete test automation tool designed to make test automation easy and effective. With the RobotEngine, Test Automation Engineers do not need to write a single line of code. The goal is to enable Quality Engineers to focus on the quality of their products instead of focusing on the test automation framework. Test cases become more expressive and easy to read and maintain.

RobotEngine allows you to do the following:

• Test Web Applications
• Test Web Services
• Test Databases
• Test File Contents
• Check System Status
• Move Files Using FTP
• Run Shell Commands

RobotEngine Prerequisites:

• Install Java
• Set JAVA_HOME
• Install Python 2.7
• Add Python to “Path” variable
• Set PYTHONPATH
• Internet connection

RobotEngine Setup Info:

The setup installs RobotEngine (with RobotFramework and RIDE).
Please make sure you install Python 2.7 before running the setup. Click here to download setup.

RobotEngine Post Installation:

Finally, you have to set the “Execution Profile” in RIDE to “custom script” and specify the custom script in “<RobotEngine>/TestEngine/runtest.bat”. Click here to see how this is done.
